Welcome to the Team App for the Wollongong Roller Hawks. We are the National Wheelchair Basketball team located in Wollongong, NSW. When we entered the National Wheelchair Basketball League (NWBL) in 2001, we became the first regional team to play in the NWBL.
Although many of the athletes who play in the League are Australian representatives and / or Paralympians, they are not classified as 'professional athletes' as their NBL able-bodied players are.
Our volunteer board volunteer their time to enable to smooth running for our players and coaching staff, whom are also volunteers.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, relying on Grants, Commercial Sponsorship and Fund Raising Events to allow our team to play in the NWBL and pay for travel, referees, score bench, uniforms and court hire.
We were the NWBL Champions in 2003 (defeating Brisbane), in 2011 (defeating Perth Wheelcats), and 2012 (defeating Perth Wheelcats). We were also the Bronze Medallist in 2007.
We hope to show you the wonderful skills of our local athletes and look forward to seeing you at a game soon.

Years with the Roller Hawks: Started in 2005 as the import, then had a few years up in Sydney for the Razorbacks,… now back with the Hawks for the last few years
Quick Blurb: Nick “Tails” Taylor was born and educated in South Africa. In 2004 he contacted the Club with a more than impressive resume and arrived to play his 1st season with the Roller Hawks in 2005. For the next 3 years, Nick played with South Africa in all International fixtures until he was eligible for Australian Citizenship and was immediately selected to play in subsequent Paralympics and World Championships with Australia.
